ABSTRACT
Advances in CRISPR-Cas technologies (a genome editing tool) are being used to illuminate the biology of oomycetes, which ultimately can guide the development of tools for managing oomycete diseases. This paper also discusses some of the challenges to applying CRISPR-Cas in oomycetes and potential ways to overcome them.
