Tohora rāo ko Kauri - this book tells the story about the relationship between whales and kauri, told by Hori Parata and environmental expert Matua Tohe Ashby. The story in this book uses the mita (pronunciation/dialect) of Te Taitokerau, reflecting the relationship of Hori and Tohe with the land of Ngāti Hine and the seas of Ngāti Wai.

This is one of six books, written in te reo Māori, in a series about nature and conservation efforts around New Zealand produced through the NZ Biological Heritage National Science Challenge.
