ABSTRACT

Te Taiao Collectives Network was established as a pilot project to understand the potential for a shared learning network to support collectives to achieve their social-ecological objectives and overcome barriers to collective action.

This project was co-designed with and for leaders of restoration collectives and is funded by Ngā Koiora Tuku Iho | New Zealand's Biological Heritage National Science Challenge, as part of a research programme exploring pathways to ecosystem regeneration.

Te Taiao Collectives Network pilot ran from August 2022 until June 2024 and involved five online wānanga. This report captures the key learnings and insights from each of the five wānanga.

Information in each summary has been collated by researchers Kiely McFarlane and Raven Cretney based on the collective wisdom and knowledge of Te Taiao Collectives Network. Network members have had an opportunity to review and provide feedback on each summary, but any errors or omissions are the responsibility of the researchers. The content of each summary reflects the themes discussed in the wānanga and is designed to share insights with organisations and collectives beyond the network that work in ecosystem restoration.
